Romania Missions

Good Samaritan Missions

The Romania mission work is making great inroads into the schools, homes and government of the Transylvanian region of Romania. Pastor Nico Gatea is a native of Romania while his wife, Caprice Scott Gatea, is a native of Ranger, Texas. They reside with their teen-age daughter, Nicole, in the town of Ocna Mures located in the heart of the Transylvanian region in Romania.

This mission work was birthed in 1990 following the overthrow of the socialistic/communist party of the time. The Gateas saw a tremendous need among the poorest of the gypsy people. They began feeding several hundred young children hot soup and/or bread in shifts and teaching them about Jesus as the children waited for their turn to eat. The Gateas are currently pastoring four growing churches and conducting Bible studies in a fourth work, as well as heading a large feeding and outreach program for children and caring for an orphanage.

Caprice teaches Religion fulltime in Romania’s public school system. This in itself is proof of good changes taking place in this post-communist country. If their schedule sounds busy, that’s because it is. Nico and Caprice, and their daughter, Nicole, minister 24/7 to precious people who have lived generation upon generation without hope and in deep poverty, under harsh communist rule.

Now, a new generation is growing up in Romania with hope for their future and their nation’s future. The Gateas give a strong influence and support to pastors in the large surrounding area. What this mission team represents will challenge and inspire all who hear to become more active in each one’s own sphere of ministry and leadership.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
     Mark 11:24 (NIV)

I also tell you this: If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.
           Matthew 18:19 (NLT)
